The BIG T Squared 480 sq ft Shipping Container Floor Plan
Bedroom #2’s size is definitely compromised a bit, but it still has plenty of closet space and room for a Twin size bed.
Bedroom #1 has its own spacious vanity with storage drawers, room for his & ours medicine cabinets, a TV wall, corner cabinets, tons of wardrobe storage and a door leading to the backyard. Did I mention it actually has room for a bed too?
With Shipping containers coming in several sizes, the possible combinations are certainly numerous. Remember, in this series we are only focusing on what can be done by connecting three or four 20’ ones. Using larger containers like 40’ or separating them by just a few feet will add square footage with nominal additional cost. So keep that in mind when you’re planning your very own ISBU castle. This means you’re not limited to 16’, 24’, 32’ etc… wide.
My “6 Floor Plan Essentials” are easily included in this 2nd version of the BIG T Shipping Container concept that’s less than 500 sq. ft.
#1 The new Kitchen has 11 cabinets including two corner base units, full size refrigerator, 24” stove and Pantry cabinet with room for a dinette table.
#2 Room for a Queen Size Bed in #1 and a Twin bed in #2.
#3 We still keep the Jack & Jill Bath going with a nice vanity area with drawers for Bedroom #1.
#4 Storage areas include multiple storage cabinets in both bedrooms, 21” deep built-in entertainment center with additional storage above, W/D closet and a dozen Kitchen cabinets.
I’m currently working on a new small house floor plan with “Zero” furniture. Wish me luck that it can make the Cozy cut!
#5 Stackable Washer & Dryer unit in the Kitchen for convince and full time comfort.
#6 This concept keeps wasted Space to a minimum, “I think about 9 ft. for the hallway” while providing comfortable everyday living and having a few guest over.
We have often said the Tiny/Cozy living is synonyms with serenity. This small house plan could easily be a peaceful and comfortable environment with this size and layout configuration.
